At LeaderBrand grow and process a range of salad leaf – they’re versatile and a delicious way to add nutrients to any dish.

We love our salad leaf from spinach to rocket and everything in-between. LeaderBrand proudly supply over half the baby spinach in New Zealand.

where does our salad leaf grow?

We grow a range of salad leaf at our Gisborne farm, with a stable climate and free draining soil. Utilising our Future Farms greenhouse helps consistency of supply of tasty salad year-round.

We are constantly trialing new varieties to see what grows, processes and most importantly what tastes the best.

our process

how do we make it?

To supply some of the country’s best and tastiest bagged salad leaf. we follow these important steps.

  1. A wide range of salad leaf is harvested daily, which is then quickly transported to our salad house.
  2. To process a range of salad leaf we prep, double-wash, dry and pack the salad leaf at our salad house in Gisborne.
  3. To help give it a longer shelf life, both at the supermarket and in your fridge, we use a state-of-the-art drying machine to remove any excess moisture.
  4. As soon as our salad leaf bags are packed, we transport it daily directly to our customers.
