You’ll be working in a cutting-edge, 11-hectare greenhouse—the first of its kind in New Zealand. About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Precision Ag Operator to join our team. As a Precision Ag Operator, you will play a crucial role in optimising crop production through advanced technology and data-driven practices.

  • Field Operations: Operate precision agriculture equipment, including GPS-guided tractors, drones, and sensors.
  • Data Collection: Gather and analyse data related to soil health, crop yield, and environmental conditions.
  • Variable Rate Application: Implement precise fertiliser, pesticide, and irrigation applications based on data insights.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning of machinery and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with agronomists, farm managers, and other team members.

Skills:

  • Tractor Driving Experience: Prior experience operating tractors is essential.
  • Willingness to Learn: While precision agriculture skills can be taught, we seek candidates who are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using GPS systems, data management software, and farm equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision ag requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to best practices.
