LeaderBrand Produce is one of New Zealand’s largest and most diverse horticultural businesses.  A significant part of this is our vineyard and subsequent wine production.  Based in Gisborne, the operation covers 300 plus hectares of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer vines.  We see a strong future in the Gisborne wine industry and have plans for significant growth over the next 5 years.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate motivated individual who has had experience supervising and leading teams. Reporting to our field operations manager your key responsibilities will be to monitor the quality of vineyard tasks and help to track daily progress ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner.  You will also help with on the job training and record keeping.      

About you 

Experience in the horticultural industry and supervising staff will be a benefit.

You will have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, calm under pressure, a good problem solver and be a confident communicator.

This is a full time permanent role which requires a tractor operator, with experience using a range of vineyard machinery. Applicants will need to have proven machinery handling skills, strong practical ability and be prepared to assist with any role within the vineyard when required.
You will be involved in operating vineyard spray equipment so experience and a current Growsafe certificate would be beneficial but is not necessary as full training will be given.
You will have a can do attitude, good time management as well as the ability to work unsupervised. Flexibility and the willingness to work long hours at peak times of the year is a must.
